I very vividly remember the first time I walked the site where Book Love now sits with a hard hat on. That day, Tony Green weighed in on the placement of our checkout counter, and it hit me as he was doing so that the conversations we were having and the decisions we were making—I was making—were going to leave a physical imprint on The Pinehills. To be invited to leave that mark is something I cannot wrap my head around to this day.

The Pinehills has been the place of my homecoming. It has held me and my family as we have moved through significant phases of life, and it has been the place where I have been able to realize my greatest professional and creative achievement to date with Book Love. The Pinehills has made a home in us and we in it.

If I had to describe The Pinehills in a few words, they would be: Created with care.
