After the settlers arrived on the Mayflower, a new chapter of history began. Until very recently the land of The Pinehills remained unused and unsettled except for the old Cornish Tavern, a few cranberry bogs, and summer estates owned by land barons. Today the restored Cornish Tavern lives on as the Rye Tavern, where residents settle into the historic atmosphere to enjoy cuisine crafted from produce as local as the Tavern’s own garden.
