Built by a Committed Community of People and Beyond
When we learned that Wildlands Trust would be celebrating their 50th Anniversary a quote from one of The Pinehills' favorite naturalists, John Muir came to mind – “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” It speaks to the connection we all have to nature. And, when you talk with Karen Grey, President & Executive Director of Wildlands Trust you learn that connections - connections we make with nature, individuals, communities, and other organizations are important in the work that is done at Wildlands Trust.
To honor those connections Wildlands Trust 50th Anniversary shifted the focus of their celebration outward. Seeing it as an opportunity to focus their joy, gratitude, and festivities to others and the community.
As part of that tribute, they have created 50 Remarkable Years, 50 Remarkable People, a book celebrating key partners, volunteers, and communities who help build Wildlands Trust. The book will be released for sale on Saturday, September 23 at their community celebration.
“Protecting land is our goal at Wildlands Trust, but without strong human relationships and community connections based upon trust and mutual respect, we have limited ability to do our work”, said Karen Grey, President & Executive Director of Wildlands Trust.
