Paul Wahlberg is taking it all in at the Mayflower Beer Garden at The Pinehills. Wearing a white uniform with apron and a tan baseball cap, the celebrity chef is enjoying the moment while he waits for the Wahlburger’s food truck to show up. Suddenly, it pulls into view and all heads turn toward the colorful vehicle adorned with his image and those of his famous brothers.
“I don’t know why anyone wants to look at those dumb faces,” he says with mock indignity.
Self-deprecating, humorous and witty, Wahlberg may downplay his own success but he certainly knows which side his bread is buttered on. He is an adept businessman with a growing empire of restaurants, and a talented chef who knows how to create delicious meals that appeal to America’s palate.
Wahlberg owns Alma Nove in Hingham with his Hollywood actor brothers Mark and Donnie, along with the burgeoning Wahlburger hamburger chain and its locations in 19 states, Canada and the United Kingdom, and related food trucks. The family also stars in the popular “Wahlburgers” television reality series on A&E, which just completed its 10th and final season.
