PLYMPTON – Here’s the short version of Mirbeau’s four course, four beer, four hour cranberry bog culinary adventure.
Those fortunate enough to be on the bus last week – going “beyond the bistro” – learned more than they expected to, stayed out later than usual, ate more than they thought they could and drank beer as if it was cold, clear water from the well.
Many of the diners expressed initial hesitancy about all that beer, asserting that they were not in fact “beer drinkers.”
To which their hosts replied, “great,” because the first ingredient in any true culinary adventure is risk. To have an adventure you have to take a little risk, go beyond your comfort level.
