The Pinehills is a rare gem. On a recent visit Lt. Governor Polito had a chance to see first-hand how The Pinehills has become a model for smart growth development and public/private partnerships for communities across the country.
The Lt. Governor's visit included a private tour with Tony Green, Managing Partner, Pinehills LLC and John Judge, President, Pinehills LLC along with state and local officials and media outlets, stopping at many neighborhoods, The Village Green shops, The Market and then culminating with a reception at Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills.
Lt. Governor Polito, who has a background in development, was especially pleased to see what has been created at The Pinehills through the public/private partnership with the town of Plymouth. The Lt. Governor commented that, “ that changing the zoning really worked to build a quality community here.” The partnership between The Town of Plymouth and The Pinehills is one that continues to grow. As Tony Green, Managing Partner, Pinehills LLC said, “It’s the Town of Plymouth that created the zoning that allowed all this to happen, and for us to be successful here at The Pinehills.”
And, The Pinehills is now the largest taxpayer in Plymouth having added more than $1 billion in new assessed value, and provided more than $13 million in net tax revenue after expenses to the town last year. The Lt Governor noted the relationship between the Town and the community by saying, “It’s obvious that The Pinehills is Plymouth and Plymouth is The Pinehills.”
So, what did the Lt. Governor really think of The Pinehills? “It would really be a dream come to true to be able to live here, because there are many options. I was very, very impressed and enjoyed it so much,” said Polito.
Just as we thought...everyone dreams about living at The Pinehills.
