On Friday, October 7th, we came together at the Hearts and Hammers 2022 Gala, in-person for the first time in three years, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the founding of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth. The Gala raises money in support of Habitat’s mission: bring communities together to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
The Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust (PAHCT) was established in 2009 to support public and private efforts to create affordable housing in the town of Plymouth. From the start, the Trust has had the good fortune to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth.
In that time, Habitat has built 4 homes in the Town of Plymouth. PAHCT has provided funds and advice on all those building projects. Tony Green, The Pinehills Managing Partner, explained, “What we have tried to do, is to make sure whatever dollars we commit (to a build) are dollars that take a project up and over the top so that it can actually happen.” Recently, two Habitat projects in Plymouth provided forever homes for veteran families.
In addition to Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust, many residents of The Pinehills, including the Veterans Group at The Pinehills, have volunteered their time and donated money in support of Habitat’s work in Plymouth.
