O’Hara Family move to South Pond Road in The Pinehills
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth has completed its most recent home, on South Pond Road in Plymouth. After more than a year and countless hours of construction, Irene O’Hara and her two children, 15-year-old Joseph and 4-year-old Reighan, have moved into their new home.
“We are so ready,” O’Hara said, “and so grateful.”
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth partners with local businesses to make dreams come true for families like the O’Haras.
“This particular project would not have been possible without The Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust,” Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth President Nancy Morse said. “The Pinehills generously provided the largest private donation in our history and we put that $98,000 toward the costs of building this home. With more partnerships such as this we would be able to provide even more deserving families with new homes and new beginnings.”
“The Pinehills Affordable Housing Charitable Trust is extremely pleased to provide funding in support of Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to build a wonderful new home in Plymouth,” Pinehills LLC President John Judge said. “We wish the family many years of happiness and joyful memories in their new home.”
That new home has been a true labor of love for Irene O’Hara. She completed 250 hours of work to build her new home and is also assisting Habitat with fundraising efforts for ongoing projects.
“It’s hard to put into words what it’s like to witness strangers come together to change someone’s life, to make a dream come true for a family they’ve never met. It’s been a truly humbling and rewarding experience,” O’Hara said.
