The Northbridge Companies breaks ground on 80-unit apartment complex
The Northbridge Companies broke ground last month on an 80-unit senior apartment complex dubbed Laurelwood at The Pinehills. Yes, The Pinehills has now added senior living. Here’s the low-down on this latest project and what it will offer seniors.
WHO:
Northbridge Companies develops, owns and manages senior living communities throughout New England. The company’s Stafford Hill senior living complex, at 60 Stafford St. in Plymouth, is one of 10 the company owns and runs. Callahan Construction will construct the new 87,330 square foot building that will become Laurelwood.
WHAT:
Northbridge Companies broke ground on Laurelwood at The Pinehills, a senior living complex in the The Pinehills. Laurelwood will feature 80 apartments, offering independent, assisted and memory-care living options. The new senior living complex will feature a gambrel roof, underground parking, patios, a theater room, library, pub and many other amenities. A walking trail will connects Laurelwood to the Village Green, Mirbeau Inn & Spa and the Village Racquet and Fitness Club.
WHEN:
Northbridge Company broke ground on Laurelwood last November and is scheduled for completion sometime in the spring of 2015.
WHERE:
Laurelwood will be located at the corner of Landmark and Golf drives near the Village Green in The Pinehills.
WHY:
“Laurelwood will be a wonderful addition to the broad range of housing choices already available at The Pinehills which range from younger families to empty nesters who are juggling busy work schedules and even busier lifestyles,” Pinehills LLC Managing Partner Tony Green said. “Introducing apartments, that for the first time, offer independent, assisted, and memory care living brings yet another new housing choice to award-winning Pinehills and broadens the strong sense of community.”
Northbridge Companies President Wendy Nowokunski said her company conducted focus groups that revealed a need and desire for senior living housing at The Pinehills.
“Residents feel such a connection to The Pinehills and want to know that they can bring their parents or continue living there independently or with assistance well into their senior years,” Nowokunski said.
