A Milestone Moment and Race to the Registry!
We never miss a chance to throw a little confetti! 🎉 Earlier this year, our team of Pinehills Brokerage Services (PHBS) REALTORS® reached a BIG milestone — they sold their 1000th Resale Home!
Let’s start with a little history for perspective.
- The first new home sale at The Pinehills went under contract in 2000, and now this village is home to nearly 3,400 families. They have set down roots among the more than 2600 cottages, condominiums, custom, and townhomes, and 800 apartment homes. And just like any other place over a quarter century, people come and go as lives and circumstances change.
- The first home resale in The Pinehills took place in 2002 – with a handful more in 2004 – and in 2020 a record total of 172* resale homes sold in what was a wild (pandemic) year.
To celebrate the 1000th resale home sold by Pinehills Brokerage Services, we have the stories of the homeowners and REALTORS® who were a part of this milestone moment. In fact, there were TWO homes in the running for #1000 and they closed on the same day in a literal “Race to the Registry!”
Their stories capture what we hear every day about how people find their way to The Pinehills, what they love about living here, and sometimes, why they say goodbye...for now!

The hardworking Pinehills Brokerage Services Resale Team has more than 65 years combined experience selling homes in The Pinehills. Both of the home sellers in our “Race to the Registry” just happened to be represented by PHBS REALTOR®, Roz Desmond, though Roz quickly points out that, as in everything they do, the whole team had a hand in this milestone.

#1000 - 8 Portico Way
Located in the Greengate neighborhood by Green Company, this home is loved by its former and current owners. A front porch perfect for enjoying morning coffee, one floor living, and private courtyards. All that and a location right in the heart of the Village Green, with The Market, shops, restaurants, and more just outside the front door!
Roz tells us that this was a special experience, but not just because it was (officially) number 1000. “I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the sellers and buyers and their network of family and friends. Even the buyer’s agent, David Landry of The Gervais Group, is a friend and colleague. David and his wife are Pinehills residents who bought a home here in 2021 with (guess who!) me representing the seller. You can’t make this stuff up! He’s always got a smile to share and he and his wife are part of The Pinehills family now.”
Phil and Herb - New Adventures Await!
8 Portico sellers, Phil and Herb were drawn to The Pinehills as a perfect location to start their new life together, close to Cape Cod, Boston, and the beautiful landscapes of Vermont and Maine. Phil and Herb cherish the friendships they made at The Pinehills, especially through the Rainbow Club, one of more than 80 resident groups at the Stonebridge Club amenity.
When the call to new adventure in a different part of the world beckoned, Phil and Herb decided to make a move to Williamsburg, VA. While they’re loving their new journey, they fondly remember the wonderful experiences and connections they made at The Pinehills. Roz says, “I loved getting to know Phil and Herb, and they are nearly as excited for new owner, Tom, to experience his journey in this beloved home in the Village Green, as Tom himself!”
Tom - Coming Home to Family
Tom’s introduction to The Pinehills came through his daughter, Sarah. In 2023, Sarah and her husband Aaron, along with their children, made the move from Maine to the South Shore to be closer to family. David Landry helped them find their new home in Plymouth. After settling in, Sarah wanted her father close by and enlisted David to find the perfect home for Tom.
David and Tom looked at several properties in Plymouth and The Pinehills. Tom ultimately found a perfect fit at 8 Portico Way. Reflecting on his decision, Tom shared, "At this stage of my life, I was looking for a place that, in addition to being beautiful, allowed me to be closer to family. Plus I want convenience, community, and a sense of ease. My new home in The Pinehills checks all those boxes."
David Landry - REALTOR® and Pinehills Resident
For buyer agent, David Landry, helping Tom move from Virginia to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren was more than a real estate transaction, it was an opportunity to bring a family together and share a community he loves.
David says he first discovered “Plymouth’s potential” back in the 1980s, and has watched The Pinehills evolve from an idea into a thriving community that attracts people with its beauty, history, and variety of activities. He’s proud to now call The Pinehills home and loves jogging the trails, diving into local history, grabbing a bite at the neighborhood restaurants, and enjoying Village Green events like the Mayflower Beer Garden. His granddaughters make sure he takes them to Stuzzi Café for a sweet treat.
Sharing these experiences with his clients is one of the joys of his work. He says, “it’s all about helping people find a home and a place where they can live their best life.” Just like he does every day at The Pinehills.
#1001 - 21 Hawk's Perch
With the home sale recorded at the registry just a short while after Portico Way, Hawk's Perch is officially the first home sale of the PHBS next 1000. Oh, and this home! You had us at white picket fence, covered front porch and a peaceful wooded view! The Hawk’s Perch neighborhood is a hop skip and a jump to the social center for everyone who makes their home at The Pinehills, the Stonebridge Club.
Karen - Right-Sizing in The Pinehills
For 21 years, Karen’s home at Hawk’s Perch provided everything she needed, from a perfect yard for her beloved daylilies and roses, to warm conversations with neighbors who became close friends. She cherishes every moment, but as life evolves, so have her needs.
Says Roz, “Karen was a dream to work with and she feels more like a friend than client. She was ready to make her move and open to all suggestions to sell her home, which is no small thing for someone who spent 21 years there making memories and caring for it with love.”
Karen’s journey at The Pinehills reflects a growing trend here: "right-sizing" within the community. According to Roz, “Some people find The Pinehills. Others? The Pinehills finds them.” That’s Tristan and Rachelle’s story. Roz remembers their long-time friend and buyer agent, REALTOR® Wilson Touze, introducing them to The Pinehills. “Wilson is fantastic to work with, and in this case he navigated his clients through some challenging logistics to find them a wonderful family home, and a great neighborhood to put down roots in Plymouth.”
Tristan tells us, “it’s one of the smartest moves of our life.” And while they did not know The Pinehills before moving here, they are discovering it’s more than a pretty face.
