Fishing club: Third time's the charm!

While The Pinehills has seen fishing clubs come and go—including an early tackle-and-tactics group from around 2008 and a memorable fly fishing club where an Orvis instructor gave casting lessons on the common (much to passing neighbors' amusement!)—the current Fishing Club finally found the winning formula.

Founded in 2015 by Paul Frost and Neil Hermann when they moved to Winslowe's View, this club combined monthly speakers with traditional fishing discussions, creating something that truly stuck. After Bart Madruga took over leadership two years later, the club has flourished for a full decade, now featuring $25 seasonal dues that fund monthly raffles and their popular End of Season Function. From government officials to charter captains, lure manufacturers to environmental organizations, their diverse speaker lineup keeps meetings fresh and informative. With free main dishes, member-provided appetizers and desserts, plus plenty of raffle prizes, this fishing club proves that the best catch of all is a community of people who share your passion for the water. – Bart Madruga, Fishing Club
